Tribute to Georges Kanuma PDF Print E-mail

Icebreakers Uganda (IBU) joins the LGBT of Burundi, Africa and the World today to pay tribute to a comrade, friend, lover and brother - GEORGES KANUMA.

GEORGES KANUMA, a Burundian born on
March 10, 1974 and died on April 14, 2010. GEORGES was an openly gay man, a Sexual Minority Human Rights Defender. He founded The Association for the Respect of Homosexuals' Rights (Association pour Ie Respect et les Droits des Homosexuels) - ARDHO in 2003. He has been a focal point for LGBTI activism in Burundi. By the time of his death he was the MSM Project Manager in ANSS (National Association for HIV Positive and AIDS patients in Burundi).
