Icebreakers Uganda (IBU) joins the LGBT of Burundi, Africa and the World today to pay tribute to a comrade, friend, lover and brother - GEORGES KANUMA. GEORGES KANUMA, a Burundian born on March 10, 1974 and died on April 14, 2010. GEORGES was an openly gay man, a Sexual Minority Human Rights Defender. He founded The Association for the Respect of Homosexuals' Rights (Association pour Ie Respect et les Droits des Homosexuels) - ARDHO in 2003. He has been a focal point for LGBTI activism in Burundi.
